Bed Install Information

Please reach us at sales@cjtraders.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

For any invoice that exceeds the amount of $1,000 paid by credit or debit card, a 3% fee is added to the grand total.  If the buyer is wanting to finance a bed through Sheffield Financial, absolutely all paperwork must be complete (lender number in hand) before install date.

  1. Let C&J know prior to installation if there are any homemade hitches, welds on frame, accessories on bed, airbags, alterations to the fuel system, or if truck is equipped with a spring loaded fuel neck (Dodge).
  2. DO NOT bring truck in with a full tank of fuel.
  3. DO NOT bring truck in with a full tank of DEF (C&J Tests Flow-Final Checklist).
  4. Power wash chassis, frame & undercarriage IF DIRTY prior to dropping off truck. If truck is caked in mud, owner will be charged a $30 pre-wash fee paid directly to installers.
  5. Drop off truck preferably a day prior to installation, or by 9am day of installation.  If truck is not at C&J by 9am, same day completion is not guaranteed.
  6. C&J will call at the beginning of the Final Checklist to give owner an hour notice of truck completion time. Exact time of completion is impossible to predict.
  7. Absolutely NO unauthorized personnel in shop/bay/work area.

Parking Sensors

  • C&J will test sensors and lights prior to bed removal and notify owner immediately if errors are found.
  • Installation of parking sensors on beds requires disconnect of fiber optic cable on newer models. Some computers will not accept the application back and will present a service sensor code.  If C&J cannot fix the issue the truck may have to be taken to a local dealer to be flashed on owner's time.
  • Removal of 1st and 2nd generation sensors on older models solely results in a frail sensor breaking.  C&J is not responsible for early year models with cracked sensors.
  • Models 2015-2021: If a sensor is PHYSICALLY damaged, C&J will replace the SINGLE sensor through our own vendor.

 Cross Traffic Control

  • Ford 2017-21. Ford models equipped with cross traffic control will likely need to be flashed to fix error message on owner's time.  Cross Traffic Sensors in factory taillights cannot be reinstalled.  In some scenarios, windows and radio will not work until flashed.
  • Chevy 2019-21. Chevy models equipped with cross traffic control sensors in factory bumpers, Cross Traffic Sensors can be reinstalled on Basic Model Flatbeds with a higher probability of false reads. Cross Traffic Sensors cannot be reinstalled on skirted models.

Cameras

  • Dodge/Chevy/Ford. On some models with fiber optic harness, the truck will not accept application back. Harness must be unplugged to reinstall. A flash may be needed on owner's time.

Factory Bed/Accessories

  • A disposal fee of $150 is charged for beds deemed trash that owner does not want to take back. If the owner leaves a bed with intentions of coming back to get it, they will pay the disposal fee which will be refunded if bed is picked up within 7 days.
  • If bed is deems usable and owner does not want to take the factory bed back, C&J will waive disposal fee.
  • Any bed or accessory left on C&J premises longer than 7 working becomes C&J property.

LED Amperage Resistors

  • Because LED lights installed in require less amperage than factory bed lights, it is common that blinker will flash rapidly and an error (bulb out) will read on newer models. C&J will fix this issue with the installation of amperage resistors on bed harness ($20a pair). One pair commonly fixes the issue. Two pairs maximum required in some models for normal function.

Spring Loaded Fuel Neck

  • Late Dodge models equipped with spring loaded fuel cap & neck will be upgraded with a new fuel neck, breather return and twist cap ($100). Spring fuel neck will not be reinstalled. NO EXCEPTIONS.
